Jogo Aberto Barreira do Vasco (RJ)

No ano de 2017, o Projeto Jogo Aberto Barreira do Vasco, situado no bairro de São Cristóvão, na zona norte do Rio de Janeiro, completou um ciclo. Depois de três anos de uma trajetória bem-sucedida, a iniciativa encerra as suas atividades na região, conforme planejamento feito pela Gol de Letra desde o início da ação, em novembro de 2014.

Em três anos de atuação na comunidade, o Projeto atendeu diretamente mais de 460 crianças e adolescentes e impactou indiretamente cerca de 1.400 pessoas, por meio da parceria com a Fundação Lacoste.

Durante o ano, o Jogo Aberto ofereceu ao público oficinas regulares de tênis e contou com uma novidade: o programa foi ampliado para a unidade do Caju, já prevendo a transferência das atividades para o bairro, com a inserção da modalidade tênis na grade a partir de 2018.

O Projeto ofereceu também serviço social para o atendimento individual das famílias, com reuniões mensais, eventos para mobilização de parcerias locais, como os Jogos de Integração, em que instituições parceiras são convidadas participar de uma semana de jogos esportivos interativos e atividades desenvolvidas no Projeto.

Os Jogos de Integração da Barreira do Vasco chegaram a sua terceira edição, contando com a participação de cerca de 240 crianças e adolescentes da Fundação, da Escola Municipal João de Camargo e do Centro de Referência da Assistência Social. Outro evento realizado foi o Gol de Cidadania, que promove ações com parceiros, prestando serviços de esporte, lazer, expressão corporal e serviços de utilidade pública para a comunidade. Mais de 220 pessoas estiveram na edição 2017 do evento.

Além de estar presente nas práticas regulares, o tênis também foi protagonista de outros eventos, como o Dia de Raquetes, no qual os participantes tiveram contato com outras modalidades que também utilizam a raquete – tênis de mesa e badminton – e o Festival Interno de Tênis, oportunidade para colocar em prática, de maneira lúdica e divertida, todos os conhecimentos adquiridos ao longo do ano. A Biblioteca Itinerante completou a programação do Projeto com um dia de leitura, discussão de livros infantis e produção de pinturas e desenhos.

Open Game Barreira do Vasco

In year 2017 the Open Game Project Barreira do Vasco, located in Sao Cristovao region, in the north of Rio de Janeiro, completed a cycle. After three years of a successful trajectory, its activities were ended, as planned by Gol de Letra at the beginning of the project, in November 2014.

In three years working in the community, the Project directly attended more than 460 children and adolescents and indirectly impacted about 1,400 people, through a partnership with the Lacoste Foundation.

During the year of 2017, Open Game offered to the public regular tennis workshops and something new: the program was expanded to the Caju unit, already foreseeing the transfer of operations to this neighborhood, including tennis modality in the activity grid of this unit in 2018.

The Project also offered social service to the families individually, with monthly meetings, events to mobilize local partnerships, such as the Integration Games, in which partner institutions are invited to participate in a week of interactive sports games and activities developed in the Project.

The third edition of Barreira do Vasco Integration Games had the participation of about 240 children and adolescents from the Foundation, from the Municipal School Joao de Camargo and from the Reference Center for Social Service. Another event carried out this year was the Citizenship Goal, which promotes actions with partners, providing sports, leisure, corporal expression and public utility services to the community. More than 220 people attended the 2017 edition of this event.

Tennis has been always part of regular practices and it was also the protagonist of other events, such as the Day of Racquets, in which the participants had contact with other modalities that use the racket too - table tennis and badminton - and the Tennis Internal Festival, an opportunity to put into practice, in a fun and entertaining way, all the knowledge acquired throughout the year. The Itinerant Library completed the Project's programming with a day of reading, discussion of children's books and production of paintings and drawings.

A Gol de Letra para mim, como presidente da associação de moradores, não teve projeto melhor em 12 anos que estou à frente da associação. Já tivemos diversos projetos que entraram e saíram, não conseguiram se manter, mas a Gol de Letra durante esses três anos conseguiu segurar essas crianças, não perdendo para o tráfico. Esse foi o melhor projeto que teve aqui na comunidade, falo isso como moradora, há 50 anos na comunidade e 12 anos como presidente. Como associação de moradores só tenho o que elogiar e agradecer a Deus por ter a Gol de Letra na vida de nossas crianças. Como mãe, o desenvolvimento de João Miguel foi excelente, já o coloquei em diversas atividades e nada deu certo, nunca vi pobre querer tênis, então eu vi pobre favelado gostar de tênis. Este ano o coloquei na escolinha de futebol e o treinador falou que o tênis ajuda a desenvolver os novos goleiros. Não sabia disso, mas como mãe só tenho a agradecer imensamente a oportunidade da Fundação Gol de Letra

I live in Barreira do Vasco and I find the event wonderful. I did not have the opportunity to participate in any other Gol de Letra Foundation event and before I did not have this vision of involving the child, oral hygiene, parents, the whole community in the activities offered. My son is somewhat sedentary and today he had the opportunity to see other kids practicing sport and started to talk that he wants to participate more, to do sports. So this was a great result, thanks to the Citizenship Goal event, where we are learning and having fun together

For me, as president of the residents' association, this was the best project from Gol de Letra in 12 years that I lead the association. We had here several projects that started and finished, that could not keep up, but Gol de Letra during those three years managed to hold these children, not losing them to the drugs traffic. This was the best project I had here in the community, I say this as a resident, living 50 years in the community and 12 years as president. As a leader of the residents' association, I only have to praise and thank God for having Gol de Letra in the lives of our children. As a mother, the development of Joao Miguel was excellent, I already put him in various activities and nothing worked, I never saw any poor person interested in playing tennis, and then I saw poor slum-dwellers enjoying tennis. This year I put him in the soccer school and the coach said that tennis helps develop the new goalkeepers. I did not know this, but as a mother I have only to thank immensely the opportunity offered by Gol de Letra Foundation.
