Vila Albertina Governmental School sP

About

Fundação Gol de Letra, as a social organization that is based on public policies, has an important role in the articulation with the public power to contribute for the preparation of a new education model in the Country.

The facilities used by the Foundation until the end of 2016 in Vila Albertina, in São Paulo City´s northern zone, were transformed, in partnership with the State of São Paulo´s Educational Secretariat, in a School of Full-time Education, as of school year 2016.

The new school is dedicated to the education of 150 children of the fundamental school (1st to 5th year), with eight school hours per day. The partnership permitted that Gol de Letra´s students doing sports and cultural activities after/before school were considered as preferred enrolled students, but this School of Full-time Education also called the attention of the inhabitants of that district.

The School and the Foundation jointly established an innovative model of space sharing, which propitiated activities to the district´s population after school and on Saturdays, with the purpose of getting the community closer to the School.

Vila Albertina Governmental School (presently named EE Dr. Sócrates Brasileiro S.S.V.O) is based on a new educational concept for the Community, its work methodology was developed with Gol de Letra´s participation, with an innovative curriculum, which includes social-emotional education, arts, debates, English language and experimental practices.

Gol de Letra´s office also got new facilities, in Vila Albertina, dedicated to administrative activities and to the pedagogical center. The Foundation intensified its activities, involving, mainly, the partnerships with local governmental schools and giving priority to the Community´s participation, using sports as a social transformation tool.  To Gol de Letra, the establishment of an Full-time education school in Vila Albertina represents another step to set the main flag motto of the institution: Full-time school for all.

Statements

"The implementation of the Full-time Education Program in Vila Albertina district is very important, as its pedagogical proposal will contribute to the students´ Full-time development  by means of a humanistic and cultural education which will propitiate their participation in school itself and in the society, with respect, solidarity, tolerance and perseverance.

The School counted on the partnership with Fundação Gol de Letra, via activities involving sports, arts, culture and entertainment, to develop the School´s objectives, i.e., to contribute to the Full-time development of children, adolescents, and young people, also involving their families and the Community.”

Cristiane Menechini Camargo, Director of Vila Albertina School (presently E.E. Dr. Sócrates Brasileiro S.S.V.O)

“I decided to enroll my son at Vila Albertina School because it is near our home, and also because it is a full day school, the children arrive at 7h30 and leave at 16h20. He is very happy there,; it has lots of activities and several teachers. It is an open school, with free space, he likes running and he also enjoys the recreation time. He loves the English and Informatics classes, besides the Reading sections. ”

“My daughter was at another school and she had learning difficulty due to the constant change of teachers. She was late in the literacy process. Her new school is good because, besides being close to our home, it is a full-time school. She is improving a lot there, she can read, write and repeat what she learned in her English classes! My daughter wants to be a Vet, her favorite subject is Maths. She also loves caipoeira! Another interesting fact is that this School has meetings with the families to explain its Project and what will be worked on along the year, besides presenting its advices. One of this days I attended a lecture on dislexy, there.”
