In 2016, more than 300 children, young people e adults took part in the activities of this Program. The activities involve sports, reading and composition, informatics, games and play sections, as well as back up classes, with the objective of contributing to the integral development of children and adolescents from 6 to 18 years of age living in Caju, in Rio de Janeiro´s seaport zone.
Besides the sports activities there are literacy workshops that include reading and writing activities, text interpretation, artistic creativity and the use of technology as a research, social relationship and learning tool. The intention is presenting a new and broader perspective concerning the power of language and literacy in terms of social and cultural insertion of the students.
There is also the intention to involve the participants´ families and other players, such as governmental schools and Community members. Based on it, Programa Dois Toques offers evening gymnastics activities for adults and promotes integration events in the Community.
Another important action of the program is the education of the monitors, in which 12 young people of the Community, between 15 to 18 years of age, have theoretical and practical education to become the multipliers of knowledge and attitudes in educational workshops as well as in other situations, as protagonists.
In 2016 some changes were done in Fundação´s facilities, which contributed to the success of the actions and to the safety of the participants. The creation of the Cajutube was a good novelty, a YouTube channel designed and produced by a group of young people of the literacy workshop. The channel´s objective is producing and editing videos as a tool to facilitate the teaching and learning processes.
Besides the X Caju Integration Games, which counted on more than 500 participants and gathered eight educational institutions of the district, the Rio 2016 Olympics and Paralympics games and tours promoted the integration of the young people with sports activities and with athletes of different modalities.
Other events also enlighted the year of students, families and individuals of Caju´s Community. The events were: Goal of Citizenship, D Day, Integration Festival (which counted on students from Rio and São Paulo units), Tour to Praia Vermelha, Tournament of Modalities, and Evening Gathering.

“I think that the events are very interesting, I felt the importance of practicing physical education to obtain better life quality. The diversity of Goal de Citizenship Program´s activities contributed to my leisure. I love the dance class with Uncle Peter Pan, I think he should come more frequently and that the event should happen more frequently, as well.”
Andrea Santos de Oliveira, 43 years of age, inhabitant of Caju.
“I liked meeting São Paulo´s team, exchanging experiences and knowing that we have a lot in common, more than we imagined. The discussed themes were interesting, targeting a healthy life. The three days were excellent, we should have stayed longer and discuss other subjects, too. The facilities and structure were perfect, I enjoyed the comfort, the food, everything. The educators were also essential in the process, they were attentive and always ready to help.” Jonathan Pedroza Viana, 18 years of age, participant of the RJ-SP Integration Festival.
“ Gol de Letra was something very good in my daughters´ lives; they joined it and learned a lot of things. As a mother, I consider that they improved very much, they matured. I am very grateful for what they learned and experienced here. I always refer to Gol de Letra´s programs and many of my friends are taking part in them.”
Zuleide Soares da Silva, 50 years of age, mother of Gol de Letra´s students.
